I’m looking to renew my vows on a beach at an all-inclusive resort somewhere in the Caribbean. I’m thinking Cabos or Playa del Carmen in Mexico, Costa Rica, etc…

Do you have any suggestions for great wedding locations at a reasonable price and good wedding packages?
I’m looking to spend under $5,000 for my wedding and accomodations.

Weddings down there are very inexpensive. My sister got married on St Thomas and the wedding itself was only about 600-800. It’s the all inclusive that will be difficult.

Try pricing Sandals, Riu, Almond, and Secrets. Those are usually the most common ones and therefore are more likely to have lower prices.

Good luck!

In the exception of Waikiki, which I’ve heard is very crowded. I’d like to get married at the resort and mainly what I’m looking for is one with an amazing views for the small wedding like mountains or cliffs or the whitest beaches.

Never been there and there is WAY too much stuff on the internet about hawaii weddings so I’m looking for someones personal experience.

I have stayed at all the places below:

On the island of Oahu, the best "wedding" resort in my opinion is the Kahala Resort. They have a wedding chapel next to their (fairly) private beach. It is in the wealthy enclave of Kahala, less than 10 minutes east of Waikiki and Diamond Head.

If you don’t necessarily have to get married at the resort itself, there are two venues I think are spectacularly gorgeous, I’ve seen a lot of weddings at both, being favorites with the locals. The first is a drop-dead tropical garden and lake, and the other is a simple rustic chapel in the entrance to the rain forest that backs Manoa Valley. Both are directly next to restaurants that do catering.

On the other islands, there is a lot of variety:

* Your best bet may be the island of Kauai if a beautiful tropical setting is what you are after. Princeville near Hanalei on the "tropical" side of Kauai comes to mind. The resort has been made into the St. Regis (I think that is still Starwood, right?), is re-opening after major renovations. It is situated on a cliff overlooking Hanalei Bay rather than the beach. This area is where they filmed "South Pacific", "Thorn Birds", and many scenes from "Jurassic Park", and is the most "south seas like Bora Bora or Tahiti" in Hawaii.

* The one problem with Hanalei is the reason people go there: all that wonderful lush tropical greenery exists because it rains a lot. If you want a less lush but "drier" location, Poipu Beach on the other side of Kauai has a truly gorgeous beach. Here, you should check out the Grand Hyatt:

* For something REALLY different, if you want to get married in a "jungle" setting near the beach, you can check out the famous Hana-Maui Resort on Maui. Negative: It takes a few hours to get here, along the famous "road to Hana" which hugs the sea cliffs through a rain forest where there are tropical waterfalls at almost every turn in some places.

* Finally, for a "fantasy" hotel on a beautiful beach, you should check out the Grand Wailea in the Wailea resort area on Maui. Fountains, lush courtyards, and of course a beautiful beach.

* On the Big Island, it is all about 5-star luxury resorts in Kahala or Kailua Kona. Wonderful and exotic, but these are spread far apart by miles in the middle of black lava fields along the water, probably not what you are looking for.

Every girl knows what im talking about. You know, why weddings, dressing up, and walking down the aisle are such huge dreams of girls. My boyfriend thinks it’s stupid and doesn’t think when we get married, that we should have a wedding and that it’s a waist of money.

Can you list some reasons why it’s so important and why every detail is important? I can’t seem to explain my feelings towards this.

Well weddings aren’t important to everyone. A lot of people are interested in being married, but the actually wedding itself doesn’t mean as much to them.
But the point should be, that a nice wedding is important to YOU. You don’t need to convince him why it is important to everyone else, just convince him why it is important specifically to you.

My fiancee and I are ready and EXCITED to book our honeymoon however, there are 2 things we are wondering…
Where can we go hot and sunny with beautiful beaches on a tight budget?? We are willing to pay $11-1200 each all inclusive. And two I am SCARED of flying I was hoping to find a destination that is not too long of a flight we are departing from Toronto Canada?? Help??…???

Florida’s west coast, around Clearwater. You might be able to get a package deal on Air Canada Vacations, flying into Tampa.

Best wishes!

i really want to have a wedding in the caribbean. i live in NJ and don’t want to go too far. i was thinking of St. Thomas. has anyone ever been married there? do you know of any nice hotels in st. thomas that i can be married? i was looking at the Marriott Frenchman’s Reef and Morning star. is it any good?if not, where in the Caribbean have you been married? Do you know any one who has been married in the caribbean?i would like to know how much it costs (roughly). i should also mention that i’m planning on inviting over 70 people ( i know call me crazy) but we both have big families. this is why i don’t want to go very far. (6 hours from Newark air port max).i heard of sandals and breezes, they don’t allow children so that won’t work out. on top of that, our guests will not be staying for 6 nights. to be honest, i planned on having them fly in on Friday and fly out on Sunday :-) please help me. i know the question is lengthy, but i really would like some help. thanks so much.

P.S. if you know any good deals let me know :-)

My sister is getting married at St Thomas in April.

Consider a cruise ship wedding. That might be cheaper. There are lots of hotels on St Thomas. Many people may want to book their own lodging since it may be cheaper to stay at Best Western.

Also Sandals is adult only but Beaches (their sister resort) is not.

Check out reviews on tripadvisor for different hotels. Frenchman’s Reef is close to downtown. I don’t know if that’s what you are going for or not. It is close to the shopping but it is on the busier side of the island. You may rather be on the Meghan’s Bay side. There are some great resorts that are expensive though–Elysian comes to mind.

My sister is getting married on Limetree Beach (now called Bluebeard’s Beach). We are using Islandweddingservices.com for our wedding planning and have been very pleased with them. They respond quickly to emails.

The most expensive thing I noticed was the flight to St Thomas. Check sidestep.com for your area but for us it would be close to 1,000 per person for round trip flight. Also time of year. The best time (aka cheapest) time to go to St Thomas is prior to may or hurricane season (October-Nov). But you may not want to go during that time as there is always the chance that a hurricane might ruin your whole week.

A wedding in St Thomas is rather cheap. We are spending less than 3000. No one will fly down Friday and back Sunday though. That would be spending close to 3,000 to come to your wedding without enjoying any time on the island. Invite 70 definitely but as it’s a destination wedding do not expect that many to come. If they cannot afford the week vacation there, they are not going to come for the wedding alone. It’s just too expensive of a flight.

I would prefer to go some place tropical and off the mainland of the United States. If anybody has personal experience that would be perfect.

I plan to get married in FL in Jan. I want a nice beach wedding on a budget. Could I rent the chairs and set up the arch myself? Do you have to get a special beach permit? Have you married like this? Do you have pics?
Thanks so much for any answers/help!

I just want to add that I’ve lived in the Orlando area for years. There is a chance that January can be cold. Plan to go further south.
Another idea is Disney World. They do alot of weddings…not tacky at all, and plenty to do in the area.

Its Best to get small caterers. thats how you know the food is good. large scale caterers food is usually mass produced and stuff and doesnt taste like its home made. i heard of a caterer called Baisley Catering. they do good food, and great cakes. on of my co workers had them do some food for one of her events. very nice, and the cheesecake is AMAZING

Any ones that come to mind?

"darling, you send me"

"the very thought of you"

"love letters in the sand"

"the story of my life"

"til there was you"

"Chances are"

I can’t find the exact link where they offer their wedding packages and where you can book. Can anyone share this link please? Also, does anyone know if any of these wedding packages include a private wedding? It’s just going to be me and my fiance and we don’t want strangers staring. Thank you! Oh, and if you have ideas for other cruise lines, by all means share.

Here is the link and the phone number. Hope it helps (Craig @ Seven Seas Travel) http://www.princess.com/learn/onboard/services/celebrations/wedding/index.jsp
